# LIP-74: L1 Minting and L2 Staking

This is the discussion thread for [LIP-74: L1 Minting and L2 Staking](https://github.com/livepeer/LIPs/blob/master/LIPs/LIP-74.md). The LIP is currently a draft and is accepting community feedback as the content continues to be iterated on. This LIP requires [LIP-73: L2 Stake Migration](https://github.com/livepeer/LIPs/blob/master/LIPs/LIP-73.md) and the discussion thread for that LIP can be found [here](https://forum.livepeer.org/t/lip-73-l2-stake-migration/1532).

Note: The LIP currently does not specify a particular L2, but by the time it enters Last Call the expectation is that the LIP will be updated to reference a particular L2. The current implementation track that is helping to inform this LIP is using Arbitrum.
