Good day everyone.
I’m livepeer investor since 2021, and i was invested +300,000 on this token for being promising and backed by grayscale.
I feel sick because i was purchased 14,000 LPT tokens at price of ~$26. it costs me +350,000
now same amount makes ~$20,000.
I did some DCA when price fall to $15, and again when price fall to $10.
I’m in big loss, I feel sick because price never goes up, but only dip down every single day.
please advice me, what can i do?
i lost my life savings in this project, and i lost hope for getting back my investment without any profits.
thanks for understanding,
best regards
heheh rest in pepperonis. welcome to crypto. Never invest more than what you are willing to lose. U cant do nothing but sell what u have to get that juicy 14k$. Also over 5 years ur initial number of LPT should more than quadriple. I hope that helps. Not a financial advice
Any plan to stop this ??
11 months closed red, what do you guess the 12th month will be ?
LPT investors themselves are killing the project when they sell in loss (to prevent more loss).
when you buy LPT for $2, and sell it later for $1, you are damaging Livepeer project for giving it lower value for new investors, from your own pocket.
Team should do something to stop this loop, otherwise it will never stops until the project fails.
Sell orders on Binance for LPT currently worth $702,000 to reach $4. These are placed orders, without any new orders would be placed when price increase.
Many investors are selling in loss, this makes the price to fall.
The other investors are placing sell orders to exit without any profits, this makes the price difficult to rise.
I know the team are working to upgrade Livepeer ecosystem, but if they don’t care about the price, investors will not care about updates. this is a fact team should know it.
Hi @kanepro24, Rich here, Co-Director of the Livepeer Foundation. Appreciate your concern and this is a frustrating time. I won’t discuss any price speculation or give any financial advice.
What I can address is your comment about the team:

We are aware of the existing flaws of the tokenomics and are exploring mechanisms / protocol changes to counteract them. For instance, Livepeer 2.0 has explicitly set out to do is establish structural link today between the network being used and the token itself. Thats been a real problem over the years which has not been addressed, alongside inflationary tokenomics.
The proposals published in A Path to Livepeer 2.0 alter the token model at its foundations rather than at the edges. The central one is the Burn Mint Equilibrium (BME): orchestrators (node operators) price services in USD, fees paid to the network are used to buy LPT from liquidity pools, a governance-determined percentage of that LPT is burned, and node operators are compensated with newly minted LPT in proportion to honest work performed. Under BME, rising usage means more supply permanently retired, so the token model is doing the work that inflation-based issuance never could. The caveat is that this is still dependent on demand increasing, which is what the Livepeer Agent aims to address and remains the primary focus.
BME, alongside a number of other proposed protocol upgrades, are being discussed. Topic-specific threads are already open under Research & Protocol Improvements, and Doug Petkanics, Founder and CEO of Livepeer Inc, has been running live protocol sessions in Discord for exactly this kind of scrutiny. This situation will take time to recover, and our aim is to get it right now. Youve held since 2021, so your read on how these mechanics land in practice carries weight in those threads.
I hope that answers your concern. I’m also open to feedback, questions or ideas. We are at an exciting moment where we have a chance to confront challenges and build a new vision. Thanks in advance.

the DCA trap is rough—everyone says buy the dip but you end up just throwing good money at something that keeps falling. hard to know when to stop before you’ve already lost the whole thing. at this point selling vs holding is less about livepeer’s potential and more about whether you can actually stomach a total wipeout without it destroying you. if the answer is no, take the L now instead of waiting for the team to fix tokenomics that might take years.
