Hey @pablov thanks for you reply.
While we are new so do not fall under B. for point A, a working hub of top open-source models and templates to use them is crucial for any company to leverage the network beyond transcoding. There is not even a useable image to video model on the network.
We did intensive research and development with top players in the entertainment industry in a few key markets to understand what kinds of problems they are looking to have solved.
We combined this with internal tools and workflows we are already using for a few projects we can’t share here publicly. One collaboration is with with former head of development at Melody VR which acquired Napster and 10+ years team from video content at Universal. This project alone has potential to bring substantial demand to the network and open up for it to be used by other large-scale projects, but in its current form we can’t use it.
The goal is to use our expertise in AI and Creative Industries to provide something that others can also leverage to build their business and generate revenue. These things are hard to do if there’s nothing for them to “use”.
As this is a new field and industry, we believe it’s about proactively creating demand by having awareness of the market and where there is value to be added.
At least the AI endeavors of Livepeer should be seriously looked at as to whether they are solving real-problems or viable from a production standard. At the moment they are not and while we have identified and been working with key players across different creative verticals to understand things that could be implemented to accomplish this (which should be counted as demonstrable impact) the network can’t have scalable solutions if the underlying offering is not on- par with what’s possible (even with open-source models) - and if there’s no education or use cases shown to increase awareness of possibilities.
This proposal is not only to support this playground for all to use, but to work with three specific-use cases and established partners in film, music, and broadcast events to bring them to life.
