Abstract
The Agent SPE is requesting 6,440 LPT from the Livepeer treasury to establish a dedicated team focused on integrating and supporting Livepeer’s inference capabilities within leading AI agent frameworks. This initiative aims to position Livepeer as the premier decentralized compute resource for the rapidly growing AI agent ecosystem, targeting an estimated market size of $25B by 2025.
Introduction
The AI agent landscape is experiencing unprecedented growth, with frameworks like Eliza, Virtuals, and others driving exponential demand for compute resources. This presents a unique opportunity for Livepeer to establish itself as the go-to decentralized inference solution for AI agents, leveraging our key advantages:
Why Livepeer for AI Agents?
- Decentralized Infrastructure: Unlike centralized providers (AWS, GCP), Livepeer offers true decentralization and censorship resistance.
- Cost-Effective: Up to 90% cost reduction compared to traditional cloud providers for AI processing.
- Token-Incentivized: Built-in economic incentives align all participants in the ecosystem.
- Scalable Architecture: Purpose-built for generative processing tasks with proven scalability.
- Developer-First: Easy integration paths with comprehensive SDKs and documentation.
Market Opportunity
- Current Landscape:
- Centralized providers dominate but face scaling and cost challenges.
- AI agents increasingly require inference processing capabilities.
- Decentralized solutions are fragmented and lack specialization.
- Livepeer’s Unique Position:
- Only decentralized protocol specialized in video processing.
- Established track record in video streaming.
- Strong technical foundation for AI integration.
- Growth Strategy:
- Target top AI frameworks first (Eliza, Virtuals).
- Build reusable integration patterns.
- Create developer-friendly tools and documentation.
- Foster community through education and support.
This initiative will be executed through a dedicated team focused on technical implementation, community support, and educational content creation. By establishing a strong presence in AI agent communities, we’ll provide exceptional developer experience, gather rapid feedback, and position Livepeer as the default choice for video processing in AI applications.
Our first target framework is the Eliza framework, currently the number one GitHub repo in the world. We can then expand into other popular repos such as Zerebro or Virtuals once the Eliza implementation is finished.
Deliverables
We will be working on three sections of our outreach and implementation:
-
Technical implementation: We will be pushing custom code or Livepeer package implementations into the frameworks’ code bases. We will follow the best practices of the target framework, conduct extensive testing, and work closely with the Cloud SPE and AI SPE to ensure a smooth pipeline.
-
Support: We will actively represent Livepeer in the target framework Discord and communication channels. This includes helping users with their AI Agent journey, such as answering questions about free inference, addressing Livepeer implementation issues, and assisting enthusiasts with character building and other agent-related questions to promote the Livepeer brand.
-
Education: We will create written and video tutorials on using Livepeer with specific frameworks, posting on platforms like X and YouTube for a broader audience while keeping content targeted to each framework.
