Introducing StableLab as GovWorks Chair

Hello everyone!

I’m Nneoma from StableLab, and along with my colleague @Jose_StableLab, I’m excited to join the Livepeer community as we embark on this journey to improve governance and foster growth. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been diving deep into the Livepeer protocol and decision-making processes, and we’re eager to connect with all of you.

As mentioned in this thread, StableLab will serve as the first Chair of GovWork to improve community representation in decision-making. In the upcoming weeks, we’ll focus on delivering quick wins to improve governance efficiency and optimize the allocation of Livepeer’s treasury resources. Here’s what we’ll be working on:

  • Creating Governance Documentation
  • Facilitating Governance Discussions
  • Generating High-Priority SPE Ideas
  • Supporting SPE Formation

We’ve already started working behind the scenes to deliver:

  • Why this is important: It provides transparency and clarity to Livepeer’s decision-making processes and makes it easier for community members to engage with governance meaningfully.
  • What to expect: Comprehensive resources that are accessible and make it easy to understand treasury allocation principles, proposal processes, and more.

:paperclip: Office Hours for 1:1 Meetings with Community

  • Why this is important: Personalized support fosters stronger community engagement and addresses individual needs. Livepeer’s SPEs are unique and specialized and require hands-on support to function optimally.
  • What to expect: Regularly scheduled sessions for direct communication, idea sharing, and feedback.

:bulb: SPE Ideas and Proposal Feedback Pipeline

  • Why this is important: The Livepeer ecosystem is vast and ever-evolving. Facilitating idea-generation sessions will help the community stay abreast of ecosystem priorities and provide clear contribution pathways.
  • What to expect: A clear pathway for submitting SPE ideas and receiving constructive feedback on proposals.

Our aim is not to make drastic changes but to streamline existing processes and offer support to key stakeholders in the Livepeer ecosystem—including the community, orchestrators, and SPEs. We’re here to listen, collaborate, and drive positive change together. As someone actively involved in governance across multiple DAOs, I’m excited to see StableLab stepping into this role. Their approach to documentation, community engagement, and SPE development aligns with what I’ve seen work effectively.
