Abstract

The AMP SPE Initiative is a 90-day campaign to establish Livepeer as the leading decentralized AI and video processing network through comprehensive marketing and promotion for all Special Purpose Entities (SPEs). By outsourcing AI tool development via a proprietary gateway and hosting a hackathon, we’ll drive ecosystem growth while showcasing Livepeer’s cutting-edge technology across platforms like Twitter Spaces, Arena Stages, and Telegram.

Mission

Livepeer’s decentralized infrastructure is a technical marvel, yet its potential remains untapped due to limited visibility and adoption. With no dedicated marketing within the ecosystem, growth stalls despite surging AI and video demand. The AMP SPE Initiative addresses this with a marketing-first mission:

  • Support All SPEs: Promote current and future SPEs via Twitter Spaces, Arena Stages, articles, tweets, onboarding tools, real-time AI video explanations, and tech demonstrations—driving Telegram and Discord engagement.
  • Showcase Technology: Highlight Livepeer’s sub-second transcoding and AI capabilities, hosting 6+ Spaces/Stages to prove its edge.
  • Develop AI Marketing Tools via Gateway & Hackathon: Outsource AI tool creation (e.g., onboarding bots, video overlays) through a proprietary gateway requiring development on our servers, capturing all metadata as proprietary, with costs estimated at $2,000 - $10,000 per tool, tendered to Livepeer projects where available. Host a hackathon with prizes from this reserve to spur innovation, with tools made accessible to all nodes.
  • Boost Ecosystem Growth: Grow a 4,600+ member community (20–30% monthly growth) and increase staking by 3–5% through visibility and education.

This approach ensures Livepeer’s ecosystem thrives by filling a critical marketing gap with proven expertise.

Rationale

Livepeer’s growth depends on visibility, adoption, and a strategic edge. Its technical capabilities—sub-second transcoding, AI moderation—are unmatched, yet underutilized without marketing and developer engagement. As competitors gain traction and AI demand spikes, the AMP SPE Initiative counters this with:

  • Marketing Leadership: Spaces, Stages, articles, and AI-driven onboarding to amplify Livepeer & SPE workflow visibility.
  • Ecosystem Enablement: AI tools, community engagement, and a hackathon to reduce friction for new users, Delegators, and developers.
  • Strategic Promotion: Multi-platform outreach (X, Telegram, Discord, Reddit, Arena, LinkedIN) to solidify Livepeer’s position as the premier decentralized video network.
  • Proprietary Advantage: A gateway capturing metadata from developer activity, ensuring Livepeer retains control over valuable data insights.

Collaboration with Treasury Proposals

The AMP SPE Initiative collaborates with all current proposals listed on Livepeer treasury. Each focuses on adoption, social media, technical innovation, and staking growth—but lacks dedicated marketing and metadata strategies. AMP addresses these gaps by:

  • Unified Marketing Support: Providing Spaces, Stages, articles, tweets, and AI-driven onboarding to promote all treasury-backed projects, enhancing visibility across platforms.
  • Shared Resources: Leveraging staking pools and project resources to boost Delegator rewards and showcase achievements.
  • Coordinated Goals: Aligning with each proposal’s objectives (e.g., 3-5% staking growth) through marketing and visibility.
  • Community Synergy: Co-hosting “mega spaces” with treasury-funded projects to demo Livepeer’s tech and highlight contributions.
  • Metadata & Development Boost: Using the gateway to collect proprietary data and hosting a hackathon to encourage development aligned with treasury goals.

Team

  • Michael Milton (Mayor) – SPE Lead, X Education (50+ hrs/week): Communicator driving vision, Spaces, and promotion.
    • X ACCOUNT: ~3,200 Followers - 4-week impressions ~215,000

Appreciate the effort in putting this together—I’m curious about a couple of areas before endorsing the plan.

Given that the SPE doesn’t have an in-house dev team, is it realistic to include significant development work—such as building AI tools and proprietary gateway—within this 90-day scope? How do you plan to manage quality control and timelines with outsourced talent?

Can you clarify the specific functionalities you envision for these AI tools and the purpose and need for a proprietary gateway, along with how they’ll be integrated into Livepeer’s infrastructure?

Hey Papa-Bear,

Thank you for taking the time to read through the proposal. The original plan was to bring on board a dev team to help with development; however, as we looked at the proposal and discussed further, we’d like to tap into the Livepeer community for developers to increase participation and collaborations between the SPEs. Livepeer’s network has some genius engineers who can do anything we can imagine. Additionally, anything else from outside would/should only come from the hackathon; the purpose is to see what can be imagined and used to create the ultimate set of AI marketing tools and resources. There will be contractual obligations on timelines that we would pre-discuss with the teams as needed to ensure the project is moving forward within the set parameters.

With that in mind, we would then want to monitor and analyze these tools with proper metrics to ensure they are functional for the community. Additionally, we could have a local environment to recycle inference credits while the developers are building. With your expertise and ability to create gateways via the Cloud SPE, a potential collaboration could be discussed; We’d like to keep our tools we create with the AMP SPE proprietary.

I’d rather have spent that huge amount on other valuable projects that contribute to organic growth rather than shilling. How much revenue will the network actually gain from this? If the product is truly great, a free month-long trial should be enough. However, Livepeer currently lacks strong projects that generate ETH revenue. I’d focus on building those first. There is no way I could support this for this amount of money.

Also I would like to see what can those Devs actually make before funding them. So perhaps some open source contribution as all other spe’s devs had made?

Hi Karolak,

Thank you for taking the time to review our proposal. Could you clarify which other projects you’re referring to that provide organic growth? I’m all ears.

I completely agree—Livepeer needs to capture more $ETH fees. That’s exactly what we’re aiming to accomplish with this SPE. That said, how would you propose we attract new users and participants beyond showcasing workflows from fellow SPEs or strategic outreach? Our goal is to have $ETH fees outpace $LPT inflationary rewards, which would strengthen the network’s long-term value.

This SPE (myself and Clips) will be focused on securing partnerships with chains, DAOs, and major projects, while also capturing users within their ecosystems. For example, I was contacted by Genzio Media I have a meeting scheduled tomorrow at 10:00 AM PST to discuss what I’m working on.

Shilling Livepeer leads to conversations like this (refer to graphic below).

Hi Karolak,

Thanks for your thoughts on the proposal—I really appreciate you digging into this. I get where you’re coming from with wanting to focus on organic growth and questioning the value of shilling. Let me offer some context that might help bridge the Web2-to-Web3 gap here, since growing a crypto project like Livepeer in this ecosystem works a bit differently than traditional models you might be used to.

In Web3, projects don’t just grow because they’re good—visibility and community momentum are everything. Unlike Web2, where a great product might naturally spread through established channels like app stores or SEO, Web3 operates in a decentralized, hyper-competitive space with hundreds of new chains and projects popping up constantly (e.g., think of how fast ecosystems like Solana, SUI, Arbitrum, Abstract or even newer L2s have exploded). To stand out, you have to draw users in—shilling and strategic advertising aren’t just noise; they’re survival tools. It’s about getting eyes on the project, building a community, and creating a flywheel where users and devs see value and stick around. A free trial is a solid idea, but without people knowing it exists, it’s like opening a shop in the middle of nowhere with no signs.

That said, I hear you on wanting to see real revenue—$ETH fees are the goal, not just hype. This SPE isn’t about throwing money at random ads; it’s about targeted partnerships with chains, DAOs, and big projects to bring in users who’ll actually generate those fees.
Please let me know if there is any further assistance I can provide, I want to ensure everyone is comfortable understanding the meat and potatoes of this amazing opportunity.

How are these parterships gonna generate those fees? I do not see any cohesion between what livepeer does and what u wanna bring.. Marketing is good but there needs to be something to market!

Please explain this? Are you saying Livepeer, LPT and all the projects and SPE’s within are not marketable? It’s important to see a vision of where you want to be. Marketing is a tool of speculation as you never know what may or may not work. If you do not try, then you will never be successful. Eventually, suppressing progress ends up being detrimental to a project.
If you have idea for collaboration or bring an expertise to this topic, please reach out as we would love to have the community fully involved in making this successful.

Here’s another great example of a recent SPACE “15 SECOND RECORDING” I attended last night. Like this one, each space requires a time commitment—this particular one was a bit lengthy at 7 hours. Typically, they run about 2 hours.

One of the participants on stage was a FAMOUS ARTIST—maybe you’ve heard of him? Luvelli is a buddy of mine based in Los Angeles with a passion for AI and strong industry connections. He and others are very interested in what I’ve been sharing with their COMMUNITY over the last couple weeks.

Hey Karolak,

I wanted to follow up regarding the ETH revenue concern. My meeting with Genzio went well—they’re a media outlet that sponsors major crypto events and provides broadcast coverage. I’m sure you’re familiar with some of these events.

Korean Blockchain Week 2025
Ethereum Denver 2025
Consensus. 2025
Bitcoin Conference Las Vegas 2025
Token 2049

One of their team members attended the Livepeer event on February 24th at ETH Denver and was highly impressed with the real-time video AI. Zack reached out to Livepeer in the general-chat on Discord. Below, I’ve shared an image and a direct link to his message in the general chat. “Shilling” Livepeer leads to these types of connections.

Why Fund AMP SPE? (Revised)

In collaboration with all current treasury proposals on Livepeer Explorer - Treasury, this 90-day sprint fills Livepeer’s marketing gap, driving visibility, adoption, and growth across the ecosystem. With $120,000, we’ll promote new and existing SPE workflows, showcase Livepeer’s innovative tech via daydream.live, and increase community engagement on X, LinkedIn, and Arena, attracting new developers and network participants. Approximately 20% will be withheld for immediate needs, with the rest fueling sustained marketing efforts. Vote yes to ignite Livepeer’s ecosystem revolution.

I’ll just be blunt here: I think your ask is delusional. You two want to get paid $40k per month for a handful of articles, spaces and a bit of content creation (for which you ofc also need a new machine that needs to get paid by the treasury).

I scrolled through your X and if we e.g. look at this post: https://x.com/MayorDelMar/status/1902060926519668961, the only engagement you have is from bot accounts (and you seem to follow and reply them…)
I can see some actual value in joining and hosting relevant spaces. But considering the attendee numbers, that will never justify 20k LPT.

It seems that you just increased the ask amount by like 10x compared to you previous proposal without delivering that much more. IMO it would be way more accepted if you’d propose a shorter and fairly priced (like your first proposal, so ~1k LPT) test run (no SPE) to see how many qualified leads (for partnerships, projects or actual users) you can generate.

Hey Vires, thanks for taking the time to review my proposal.

I completely agree with you. X as a platform is over ran with bots, agents, and scripts. In fact X has the lowest conversion metrics of all the major platforms. I know this… And if anyone is interested here is some recent data cited from Grok3. And trust me it’s not biased. “For the highest conversion rate from paid ads as of March 24, 2025, Facebook is your best bet with an average of 9.21%, significantly ahead of Instagram (1-3%), X (0.5-1.5%), and TikTok (0.46-2.3%).”

My proposal is NOT geared to the amount of tweets I make… Since you’re trying to pick me apart let me point out one major flaw. Digging up those metrics on old posts from a week ago. Man I just took a gander at the link you shared. Here is something BIG I spotted right away… https://x.com/Livepeer/status/1902059196897693759

“Harmony” where’s their reply? Someone is there with baited breathe… and we left them on read…

PS… I COULD SAY THE SAME ABOUT LIVEPEER POSTS… Example of the latest posts the Inc engagements and they have 10x the following I do…

Quote tweets - 1 real account my account, MayorDelMar, Oh and the RT’s which DO NOTHING for the X algo. Are from a bunch of 'BOT" accounts the only real one with a Blue Check is Joel… One of your biggest delegators.
https://x.com/Livepeer/status/1904193096734458361/retweets

So let’s talk talk about X’s algo for a minute and how it favors engagement, likes, quote tweets, shares, bookmarks. All of that the following accounts Daydream, ComfyUI, or Livepeer follow my Mayor account or my Stream-Daemon Node account. No effort to engage with any of my posts has been made. Okay, ONE time I received a like from Livepeer Inc, back on February 28th. I was so excited that I sent someone a text message about it! It mean that much to me…

ONE like… Out of the several hundred posts I’ve shared across multiple accounts since January. This is a cause for concern IMO, and a major reason there is no awareness of what a Livepeer is.

Here is something else that doesn’t make sense.

I want this to resonate with you ALL of you. I will be blunt myself. I am outpacing the Inc account on X and beyond. My presence stunts Livepeer Inc, here’s an example.

A representative from Genzio Media was in the audience at Livepeer AI Tinkerers/ETH Denver on the 24th. The attendee was very impressed with Livepeer’s decentralized infrastructure and real-time video workflows. So much so, that he went back shared his findings with the internal team.

Fast forward to last week. Why did a corporate media sponsorship for the ETH Denver event contact me on X..? https://x.com/GenzioCo

Why didn’t their CEO hit up Livepeer Inc instead? Why me?
How am I more relevant in the space than the brand itself?

Tweets aside, I come correct with stage presence and what I can bring to the table. If you would take a moment to review the recording I provided in the thread above. You can hear En and myself live on stage. We’re out here representing the brand that you’ve spent so much time building and the community thanks you for that.

Let me break this tweet down even further for you…
https://x.com/Livepeer/status/1902059196897693759

To max engage and utilize the resources at hand. This post should have originated from Daydream. To better the outcome and engagement rate, Livepeer account would then quote tweet the post. I can point out several examples of missed opportunities on the Inc timeline.

From our buddy Grok: Quote tweeting is often considered more important than retweeting because it lets you add your own voice or opinion to the conversation. When you retweet, you’re just sharing someone else’s post as-is, which is quick but doesn’t show your perspective. Quote tweeting, on the other hand, allows you to comment, explain, or react to the original post while still sharing it. This makes it more engaging, personal, and useful for building your own presence or sparking discussion, rather than just amplifying someone else’s words.

Your account receives 0 engagements from retweeting a post without quoting.

This is a major concern of mine. Thousands of hours, and possibly millions of dollars have allocated to this workflow… This is the marketing efforts received for those allocated funds. [Refer to picture below.]

With that said, why did the Daydream account go TWO WEEKS of radio silence? FWIW, actively participating is what spreads awareness of a project…

By the way, to do this type of marketing analysis. The marketing firm would charge a couple grand minimum.

At the end of the day, there are thousands of AI projects being released monthly, full blown AI chains… Some of these market caps are in the billions… If you want Livepeer to emerge as leading decentralized streaming provider as badly as I do. Vote, YES.

Agreed. I don’t see any real value in this proposal. I’d much rather see funding go toward technical projects instead. Livepeer Inc. already employs people responsible for marketing, and, frankly, there’s just no solid product at the moment (it’s still being built) to justify a significant marketing push.

On top of that, there are no clear KPIs. What measurable benefit would the Livepeer network actually gain from this? More fake views? We don’t need that.

So yes, let’s bury this idea. 20k LPT? Seriously? This feels like the equivalent of a random influencer walking into a coffee shop, asking for free coffee, and offering a tweet in return. At least in that scenario, the trade makes some sense.

And for the proposee, I recommend making private p&d telegram group for shilling maybe you can earn even more with your marketing skills. If you say ur views makes sense then use it for your own gain. Good luck

I agree with @vires-in-numeris that a smaller project empirically demonstrating the value delivered would go a lot further. If you can achieve traction and reputation in the community with a smaller deliverable, it will open up the opportunity for multiple proposals of this size.

The need for a more prominent, consistent marketing effort from the community is attractive. One that is not tied to Livepeer Inc (affiliated is fine) I would add. As I interpreted some replies here to suggest, needing more technical features as the primary driver for adoption is not a holistic view of a product imho. This is where a proposal like this one by a group with a track record would be more valuable than this ask. We do have not have a group here that has achieved increased fees or usage via marketing. Most have focused on driving staking and Orch visiibility as I see it. On the other hand, driving more interest to Livepeer that results in sales pitches (ie. Genzio) or other BD/sales reps shilling the community is not the result we need. Obviously these things will happen as marketing activities will attract more than just qualified leads. This again is where a smaller proof of value would be more digestible and offer opportunities to course correct with data in hand (e.g. which channels work, what content drives the personas we want to the funnel, etc).

Now one may argue the time commitment of a small POC is too large to warrant a smaller payout. I feel this deeply as contributor here having lead teams with 100s of people from startups to Fortune 5, but there are projects many have taken on and contributed to where the payout was much smaller in contrast to the value delivered or invested. There were investments many, including myself, made in proving their value and empowering the community. Take this as constructive feedback and not a knock at your intrinsic value.

I hope this helps you in your evolution of this SPE. In summary, my two cents:

  • Narrow scope and ask for less → do a smaller project and follow on later with a bigger ask if successful in driving value…i.e. community consensus on subjective value of a small POC, higher network usage, sustained engagement in the community aka more than “hey Mayor sent me” or “gm”, etc.
  • Avoid being myopic. Yes, we all have bills to pay now and not later, but investing in the community with your contributions will open up more value long term.
