DevRel SPE - Pre-proposal

Proposal author(s) and contact Hadrien Royo
Abstract
This pre-proposal aims to gauge interest in a potential initiative, ‘Livepeer AI: Empowering Creative Developers and Coders.’ The goal is to foster a community of creative builders and “vibe coders” within the Livepeer ecosystem by offering resources and support focused on real-world use cases with Livepeer-powered tools.

Mission
The Livepeer AI initiative aims to fill a critical gap at the intersection of Web3, social AI agents, and generative AI. While AI tools are increasingly adopted, there is no dedicated community for “vibe coders” — creative developers experimenting with programmable social AI, such as building interactive agents. Imagine an AI agent in a virtual world, dynamically generating personalized content, responding to user input in real-time, or hosting live-streamed events powered by Livepeer’s decentralized video infrastructure. By providing examples, education, and support, this initiative aims to empower developers to explore Livepeer’s potential, fostering growth within both the ecosystem and its creative community.

Rationale
AI is transforming how we code, and AI agents will redefine the internet. Despite this shift, there is no established community at the intersection of Web3, AI agents, and generative AI—creating a unique opportunity for Livepeer to lead with the close collaboration of its Head of Community, En Canada.
Social frameworks like Eliza and tools like ComfyUI prioritize programmability and creativity, encouraging developers to share, collaborate, and push boundaries. Livepeer should be doing more to be a home for this new wave of experimentation, providing the infrastructure, support, and community for developers to experiment, innovate, and showcase their work.

This initiative emphasizes creative exploration over infrastructure, prioritizing hands-on experimentation and real-world applications. By targeting developers, creators, and creative builders, it aims to grow the Livepeer community by providing the resources, examples, and incentives needed to explore generative AI powered by Livepeer.
This SPE could double as complements to Livepeer’s broader goals by aligning with upcoming Livepeer INC DevRel initiatives, Livepeer Community Initiatives and the current AI Agent SPE, while also addressing a short-term gap by supporting creative developers building on Livepeer.

SPE Governance Structure

The SPE will operate under a decentralized governance model. Key roles include:

  • Leadership: Led by Hadrien Royo, responsible for strategic direction and execution.
  • Committee Members: En Canada, Head of Community
  • Operational Team: TBD

Hadrien Royo currently leads creative technology at Eliza Studios, where he is laying the groundwork for a character-driven social agent future. His experience spans leadership, creativity, technical expertise, and community recognition.

With an MFA and faculty experience at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Hadrien brings a robust background in creative industries and entertainment. His work includes producing the Crypto-Z podcast, which achieved over 500k downloads and attracted a Hollywood purchase offer, demonstrating his ability to create compelling content and engage audiences.

Hadrien has navigated the intersection of media and Web3, fostering innovation and collaboration. His leadership has led to partnerships and grants with Web3 leaders such as ElizaOS, Seed Club, Lens Protocol, Livepeer, and EigenLayer, highlighting his ability to bridge creative and technical communities.

This blend of vision and expertise positions Hadrien to effectively guide the initiative, aligning Livepeer with the evolving landscape of AI agents and creative technology.

Why This Matters

This initiative is about laying the groundwork and creating a space for exploration and discovery, not about delivering specific performance metrics. Our role is to provide effort, time, and expertise, building the foundation for a DevRel SPE as a long-term resource hub through initiatives like the “Livepeer AI Studio” YouTube channel.

We are committed to sharing content widely through our networks, offering inspiration and practical guidance, and fostering a collaborative and creative environment. However, the ultimate success of Livepeer’s products and the achievement of growth metrics rely on the Livepeer INC marketing team and broader community engagement.

By setting the stage for experimentation and amplifying Livepeer’s role in creative technology, this initiative offers an open-ended, flexible approach to nurturing organic growth within the community and ecosystem over time.
