Abstract

This SPE aims to elevate Livepeer’s brand visibility by showcasing its advanced AI-powered livestreaming technology at high-profile Web3 events. Leveraging strong community connections and strategic partnerships, this initiative positions Livepeer as the leading choice for decentralized video and AI solutions.

Motivation

Livepeer is a robust, functional protocol with immense potential, yet its brand recognition lags behind. Despite the groundbreaking AI capabilities of the Livepeer network—unmatched by other DePIN projects—many in the industry remain unaware of its advanced AI features. This lack of awareness limits the protocol’s ability to attract new users, developers, and contributors.

With its technology, community, and governance foundations firmly established, Livepeer is now poised for aggressive market expansion. While there are numerous marketing avenues, this SPE specifically focuses on Web3 event marketing.

Livepeer is uniquely positioned to stand out at these events by offering activations that other companies cannot, such as livestreams “powered by Livepeer AI.” This provides a direct, visible demonstration of Livepeer’s capabilities. Through sponsorships and livestream production for major Web3 events, Livepeer can effectively showcase its technology to an ideal audience, driving brand recognition and adoption.

Rationale

This SPE leverages Livepeer’s ecosystem strengths to foster mutually beneficial exchanges between Web3 event organizers and companies utilizing Livepeer technology. Web3 events consistently require high-quality video services for livestreaming, recording, and post-production. Livepeer ecosystem companies can meet these needs using decentralized infrastructure and innovative AI capabilities.

To incentivize event organizers to adopt Livepeer-powered solutions, this SPE establishes a fund to offer discounts on these services in exchange for strategic marketing activations. Event organizers benefit from reduced operational costs, while Livepeer gains branding opportunities through:

  • “Powered by Livepeer” overlays on livestreams and media content
  • Sponsorship banners and social media campaigns
  • Keynotes, workshops, and presentations showcasing Livepeer’s AI capabilities

This strategy enhances Livepeer’s visibility and reinforces its value proposition to key stakeholders, including developers, investors, and builders. Additionally, by involving Livepeer ecosystem companies, the SPE fosters community alignment and strengthens Livepeer’s mission to build an open, decentralized video infrastructure.

Activations and Value

The fund will support marketing activations that position Livepeer as the premier decentralized video infrastructure, including:

  • Branding: “Powered by Livepeer” overlays on event livestreams and media content (e.g., videos, reels).
  • Sponsorship: Official media sponsor recognition on event websites, banners, and social media.
  • Engagement: Keynotes, workshops, and event booths to present Livepeer’s AI capabilities.

Expected Outcomes:

  1. Brand Visibility: Increased exposure to core audiences at major Web3 events such as ETHDenver, Devcon, and EthCC, enhancing recognition and trust.
  2. Credibility: Official sponsorship solidifies Livepeer’s role as a leading decentralized technology provider.
  3. Technological Showcases: Demonstrating Livepeer’s AI capabilities converts interest into adoption.
  4. Community Growth: Strengthened partnerships with event organizers and increased collaboration opportunities.
  5. Monetization Opportunities: Adoption of Livepeer’s technology by event organizers drives long-term revenue growth.

Roadmap and Goals

This SPE aims to cover operational, marketing, and engineering expenses for two quarters. Our north star metrics for this initiative are the number of events, video impressions, and demand generation for the Livepeer network.

Goals:

  • Number of Events: 100
  • Estimated Minutes Transcoded: 9,600,000
  • Estimated Views: 6.5 million

On average, one event produces 4 livestreams of 8 hours. Each livestream generates 10 individual speaker session videos averaging 30 minutes.

Additionally, funds will support developing our 2025 AI Feature Roadmap:

2025 AI Feature Roadmap

  • Q1: AI voice translation for video clips
  • Q2: Real-time AI voice translation for livestreams
  • Q3: AI B-roll generation & AI agent integration for automated editing
  • Q4: AI video transformations (background removal, eye sync, improved highlight detection)
