2024 In Review
With the year rapidly coming to a close, we’d like to take a moment to provide an update, as a Livepeer node operator of over 3 years now—wow
We Re-Invested
We started the year with a ~$50,000 re-investment into the network:
- Built a server containing 2 4090 GPUs to help jumpstart the new AI initiative.
- Revamped and rebuilt our transcoding server, upgrading everything, including the GPUs, to 3 RTX 4000 Ada’s.
- Upgraded from 1GB networking to an 8GB private line.
- McGyvered everything into a single makeshift server room closet (true decentralized infra).
- Worked with a fellow Orchestrator to provide equal coverage in the EU.
- Ran electrical to a large capacity home generator.
- Attached everything to a very large UPS.
- Continued to support multiple regions for transcoding.
Community Activity
We kept actively contributing to the community, voting independently on all new treasury proposals, joining discussions, water-cooler chats, and participating in the Know Your Orchestrator blog release by Live Pioneers.
Tenderize
We had the opportunity to partner with Tenderize on their launch, enabling liquid staking for LPT, and we’re grateful to be a part of it.
Legal Entity
With help from Opsfi, we incorporated Nullworks LLC., a necessary step for paying a full-time engineer starting in December (if the banks allow it, thanks Obama)
Our Startup
Livepeer has allowed us to go Web 3.0 full-time, enabling us to launch a startup of our own, which is almost 2 years old now. Since Livepeer has been vital to our non-VC-funded approach, we’re always looking to connect it with the protocol in any way we can.
LPT Integration with Squid Router
We worked closely with our cross-chain providers at Axelar’s partner, Squid Router, to enable competitive cross-chain LPT swapping across many networks. This now enables LPT swapping directly in Discord through our startup’s on-chain functionality.
AI Startup Grant
We applied to Livepeer’s AI startup grant and built a generative AI application for Discord focused on UX, event management, and gamification. It’s all tied into the same bot that can tip, raffle, and airdrop LPT to server members. We were voted #1 out of the participating startups and are one of the few production-ready, actively used applications. “Gen” is active in 80+ servers, used by over 550 people, with 61,000 images/gifs generated organically.

Our Gateway Node
Our startup also set up and actively manages a Gateway node, sending out 289 tickets worth roughly 0.3468 ETH (~$1,000) to node operators so far.
Not All Good News
Unfortunately, late this year, we saw one of Livepeer’s large OG Delegators leave the network, leading to a reduction of 50% or more in total stake for many Orchestrators, including our node. We hope they reconsider and rejoin the network soon. In the meantime, we’re committed to doing our part to push the protocol in the right direction so delegators feel confident staying.
Onto The Next Year
It’s hard to believe it’s been 3 years since we joined the network, but we’re excited for what’s to come—from new real-world use cases and AI to growing demand and engagement from delegators. We’re looking forward to having more reasons to scale and build out even more kickass infrastructure.
We’re also planning to revamp our website, shifting the focus to Nullworks and all our endeavors.
If you’re holding LPT, stake it on the Explorer, or, if you don’t like delays, use Tenderize
